Dush - Head Inventor/Teacher

Meet Dush Thalakotuna, affectionately known as Dr. Dush, the visionary inventor driving our programs. As our head inventor, teacher, and program designer, Dush exudes boundless energy for innovation and a steadfast dedication to fostering young problem-solvers. His journey is fueled by an insatiable passion for crafting dynamic STEM experiences that ignite curiosity in young minds.

Since 2012, Dush has been guiding high school students on exhilarating journeys through the worlds of robotics and coding, encouraging them to explore, create, and innovate. His commitment extends beyond our programs as he serves as a distinguished judge in numerous FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge competitions across New South Wales.

But Dush’s impact doesn’t end there. Beyond his role with us, he is an esteemed engineer and senior lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney’s Engineering School, where he continues to inspire future generations of innovators.

With his infectious enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge, Dush is not just a leader but a mentor, guiding young minds to reach their full potential and make their mark on the world of STEM.

Nuvanmee

Meet Nuvanmee, a dedicated advocate for science and technology, currently in Year 11 at CGHS. Despite her high school commitments, Nuvanmee’s passion for teaching and inspiring young minds knows no bounds. She thrives on working with primary school children, guiding them through innovative projects and problem-solving activities.

Nuvanmee’s love for teaching extends beyond the classroom as she actively participates in helping children discover their passions and talents. Her interactions with kids allow her to witness their curiosity firsthand and make a positive impact on their learning journey.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Nuvanmee enjoys dancing, which enhances her collaboration skills. She believes in sharing her diverse interests with children, encouraging them to explore various avenues of creativity and expression.

As a mentor and role model, Nuvanmee’s dedication to empowering children through education makes her an invaluable member of our team. Her enthusiasm for learning and fostering curiosity shines through in every interaction

Jessica

Meet Jessica, a dedicated  educator with a passion for fostering a love of science and technology in young minds. Currently pursuing a degree in primary school teaching, Jessica is fueled by her genuine love for what she does and her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of her students.

With big plans for her teaching career, Jessica sees herself as a catalyst for positive change in the education system. She believes in the power of STEM education to unlock endless possibilities for her students and is determined to champion our workshops, inspiring children to explore, innovate, and create.

Sy

Meet Sy, our passionate mechatronic engineering graduate with a deep love for all things engineering. With a knack for problem-solving and a penchant for crafting innovative solutions, Sy embodies the spirit of creativity and ingenuity.

Driven by his passion for engineering, Sy finds joy in sharing his knowledge and experiences with the next generation of thinkers and creators. He revels in witnessing young minds embrace outside-the-box thinking and come up with ingenious solutions to complex challenges.
